Hamilton Hill's Park Renamed as 'Lewis Yarlupurka O'Brien Reserve'

We are pleased to announce that Adelaide Hills Council, in conjunction with the local Kaurna people, have chosen Lewis Yarlupurka O’Brien Reserve as the new name for the Hamilton Hill Park.

The park and reserve have taken six years to transform from an abandoned council dump and a neglected scrub area covered with over 60,000 wild olive trees into this wonderful community space.

Kite has invested over $3 million creating a beautiful community space that will be enjoyed for generations.

The Lewis Yarlupurka O’Brien Reserve is made up of multiple large grassed areas, a BBQ area, an amphitheatre, native creeks, and restored bush land, which are all connected by a network of paths. This reserve truly connects the city to the hills.

It has been a pleasure to work with Adelaide Hills Council on this project. The AHC have been so supportive of our vision, and they have played a wonderful role in reconnecting the First Nations People back to this special piece of land.
